FIRE PREVENTION FEE SCHEDULE

The following schedule outlines the permit fees for the Rock Community Fire Protection District. These fees are designed to cover the administrative and operational costs associated with the review, inspections and approval of various permits necessary to ensure safety and compliance of fire-related services within the fire district. All applicants should refer to this schedule for fees before submitting any permit applications.

F107.2.1 SCHEDULE OF PERMIT FEES:

COMMERCIAL PERMITS:

Commercial permits include all buildings and structures, equipment and systems. The fee is $150.00 for first $2,000.00 plus $4.00 for each $1,000.00 of estimated construction cost for the following:

  • New Construction Commercial Building
  • Commercial Interior Finish
  • Commercial Remodel/addition
  • Commercial Rack Storage Systems
  • Commercial Hood Systems (Mechanical)
  • Underground Fire Main/Sprinkler Systems
  • Paint Booths
  • Underground Fuel Tank(s) Removal or New Install
  • Above Ground Fuel Tanks (New)
  • Fuel Dispenser(s)
  • Fire Alarm Systems-UL UUFX
  • Fire Suppression System, Kitchen, Special Hazard

FIRE SPRINKLER PERMITS:

  • Sprinkler permit Fees of 1-100 heads $300.00
  • 101-200 Heads $325.00
  • 201-300 Heads $350.00
  • 301-400 Heads $375.00
  • 401-500 Heads $400.00
  • Over 500 Heads $400.00 +0.33 Per Head

COMMERCIAL ADDITIONAL PERMITS:

  • Commercial Use/Occupancy Permit Less than <5,000 Sq. ft. $75.00
  • Commercial Use/Occupancy Permit Above >5000 Sq. ft. $150.00

F107.2.2 CALCULATING FEES:

Fees shall be based on the construction cost. This cost is based upon using the Building Valuation Date (“BVD”) Figures set by the International Code Council “ICC”) which is adjusted from time to time. The construction cost shall be based upon the latest BVD information.

F107.2.3 COMMERCIAL BUILDING PERMIT:

Construction building permits should be required for all buildings not within the definition of a residential building permit above. A minimum fee of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) shall be paid on the estimated commercial construction cost of the first two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) and four dollars ($4.00) for each additional one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) of estimated construction cost.

F107.2.4 PLAT REVIEW PERMIT:

A minimum fee of one hundred twenty five dollars ($125.00) shall be paid when a plat for a subdivision, multifamily, mobile home court, commercial development etc… is submitted and reviewed and will cover the following items: street, fire hydrant locations and replacement, entrances into a development, fire lane requirements, street grades, painting of fire hydrants, street signs and street names and other items required by this ordinance.
