About Rock Community Fire Protection District
The Rock Community Fire Protection District (RCFPD) serves the northeastern portion of Jefferson County. We protect approximately 54,000 residents across 38 square miles, including rural, residential, commercial, and industrial areas. Service is delivered from five stations, supported by a centralized headquarters, maintenance facility, training grounds, and water-rescue access on the Mississippi River near Kimmswick.
We provide 24/7 emergency response, including fire suppression and Advanced Life Support medical care (Non-Transport). Our stations are staffed by trained firefighters who are also licensed EMTs or paramedics, allowing us to deliver immediate patient care while coordinating with ambulance transport partners for seamless hand-off.
Beyond daily emergencies, we maintain specialized capabilities to meet the risks in our community:
- hazardous materials response
- technical rescue (rope, trench, confined space, and collapse support)
- water rescue operations
- unmanned aircraft systems (drones).
These resources help us respond effectively across our neighborhoods, businesses, roadways, railways, and waterways.
We are equally committed to prevention and preparedness through fire inspections, code enforcement support, and community risk reduction programs such as CPR training, car seat checks, smoke detector distribution, and safety initiatives for youth and seniors.
Guided by our mission and values, we focus on readiness, prevention, and efficient operations to be responsible stewards of the community’s resources.
