Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) is a series of classes that prepares you to help yourself, family, coworkers and neighbors in the event of a crisis in your community.
After major disasters such as tornadoes, earthquakes or other major events, first responders can be quickly overwhelmed. Citizens trained in CERT can safely assist in their community or neighborhood until trained personal arrive at the scene.
Through a series of a 20 hour training program, CERT members learn about emergency preparedness and receive training through a partnership of professionally trained local emergency responders and CERT trainers to learn theses life saving skills.
Rock Community is a active participant in the regional Jefferson County CERT. Trainings are held periodically throught the Jefferson County Office of Emergency Management.
